Chicken Momos



Ready In:

40 minutes




For the Dough:

  • 200 Gms white flour
  • ¼ Tsp baking powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Sufficient water to make dough

For the Chicken Filling:

  • 200 Gms minced chicken.
  • Salt to taste.
  • 1 Tsp soya sauce.
  • 1 Tsp pepper powder.
  • 1 Med onion finely chopped.
  • 1 Tbsp oil.
  • 3 Garlic pods(finely chopped).
  • 1 Tsp vinegar.
  • 2 Carrots finely chopped.

For Chilli Sauce:

  • 6 Garlic pods.
  • 1 Med tomato.
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar to taste
  • 10-15 whole red chillies..
  • 3 Tbsp vinegar.
  • 1 Tbsp oil.

Step by Step Instructions

Chicken Momo Preparation:

  • In a bowl mix all the ingredients of the chicken filling and keep aside.
  • Combine the refined flour, baking powder and salt together into firm dough. Cover and keep aside for 30 minutes.
  • Roll the dough into very thin 4-5 inch rounds.
  • Take each round piece and place some filling in the center.
  • The main goal is to make sure, you conceal the edges of the dough patties together so no meat comes out.
  • Bring the edges together and twist to seal it.
  • Steam in a steamer for about 10-15 minutes and serve them hot with the sauce.

Momo Sauce:

  • Take a pan and on medium heat take sufficient water and add the tomato and red chillies.
  • Boil till the tomatoes are soft and turn mushy. let it cool and peel of the tomato skin and transfer the tomato and chilli mixture to a blender followed by adding garlic, sugar,vinegar,salt,soy sauce and blend until smooth.
  • Finally momo chutney is ready to be served with.
