Crispy Honey Chilli Potatoes Recipe

  • 8-10 Medium sized potatoes, peeled and cut into finger sized pieces.
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 Tbsp cornflour
  • ½ Tsp crushed pepper
  • 3 Tbsp cornflour
  • 3 Tsp oil
  • 2 Spring onion bunches
  • 2 Tsp chopped garlic
  • 2 Tbsp of sesame seeds
  • 3 Tsp red chilli flakes
  • 3 Green chillies slit
  • 2 Tsp vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp soya sauce
  • 3 Tbsp chilli sauce
  • 3 Tbsp honey
  • Oil for deep frying
  • 4 Tsp of chilli flakes

Step by Step Instructions

  • Clean the potatoes, peel and cut the potatoes into long strips, similar to French fries, once done soak them in water and set them aside.
  • In a pan place the cut potatoes, add water and bring them to boil for 5 mins.
  • After the potatoes are ready to strain the water and transfer the potatoes into a large mixing bowl.
  • Mix cornflour and salt adding little water at a time until you get the thick batter, coat the potatoes with the batter and deep fry them until golden brown and crisp.
  • Dry roast the sesame seeds and set it aside.
  • In a large wok heat 3 Tsp oil and sauté 2 Tsp chopped garlic, 3 green chilli, and 1 spring onions
  • Now add chilli sauce, soya sauce, vinegar, salt and sauté for 1 min.
  • Now add corn flour with some water and stir it to ensure there aren’t any lumps and boil the mixture till it thickens.
  • Finally, add the fried potatoes and give it a good mix and coat all the fried potatoes with the sauce and garnish with 1 bunch spring onion, honey, sesame seeds, and chilli flakes.
  • Finally serve honey chilli potato with fried rice or as a starter.
