Oats Tikki Recipe

  • 1 Cup Oats
  • 1 Large Sweet potato(boiled)
  • 4 Tbsp Samolina powder
  • 1 Cup Poha
  • ¼ Cup water
  • ½ Cup Coriander
  • 3 Green Chillies chopped
  • 1 Tsp Chilli powder
  • 1 Tsp Amchur
  • 1 Tbsp Ginger Garlic paste
  • ½ Garam Masala
  • ½ Grated Carrot
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 Tbsp oil for baking
  • ½ Cup Bread Crumbs
  • ½ Cup milk

Step by Step Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 200 C
  • Soak Oats and poha in the water and set it aside. Mash the boiled sweet potato and mix it with soaked oats and poha.
  • Take a bowl and add green chillies, semolina, coriander, grated carrot, ginger garlic paste, amchur powder, and salt to taste.
  • Roll the mixture like a ball cover it with a plastic wrap and refrigerate for an hour.
  • Take the bowl out and divide the mixture into portions you like and roll out each portion and make a flat round tikki.
  • Dip each tikki in milk and then coat it with bread crumbs and keep it aside.
  • Grease the baking tray with oil and bake the tikkis until golden brown by turning on each side for about 25mins.
  • Serve hot with mint chutney or tomato ketchup.


  • If you do not have an oven you can put a saucepan on medium heat and shallow fry the tikkis turning each side until golden brown.
  • Once done serve hot with mint chutney or tomato ketchup.
