Paneer Jalfrezi Recipe

  • 250gms Cottage cheese/Paneer diced
  • 2tbsp. oil
  • 1 large onion julienned
  • 1 medium tomato julienned
  • 1 green bell pepper julienned
  • 1 inch ginger julienned
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • Pinch of Turmeric
  • 1tsp chilli powder
  • 1 ½ tsp coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Half lemon juice (small size)
  • Chopped Coriander for garnish

Step by Step Instructions

  • Pre-heat the saucepan, add oil and once the oil is hot drop the cumin seeds and let them sizzle and splutter

  • Add julienned onions and cook on medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes or until tender and translucent and then add minced garlic and ginger juliennes sauté for a minute

  • Add turmeric powder, chilli powder and coriander powder and stir for a minute

  • Add bell pepper and mix well until coated with spices and sauté for 3 to 4 minutes and then add the tomatoes and cook until they are tender and then add salt to taste

  • Now add paneer cubes and mix well and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Turn off the flame and add Lemon juice and mix well and garnish with the Chopped Coriander

  • Serve hot with the Indian bread
