Sweet Pongal Recipe

  • ½ Cup Rice
  • 1/4 Cup Moong Dal
  • 2 ½ Cups of Milk
  • ½ Jaggery (you can add according to your taste)
  • ½ Tsp Cardamom powder
  • ½ Tsp Cinnamon powder
  • 2 Tbsp Cashew nuts
  • ¼ Cup Fresh Shredded coconut
  • 3 Tbsp Ghee
  • 2 Tbsp Raisins
  • 1/2 Tsp of Salt

Step by Step Instructions

  • Add rice, moong dal, milk, jaggery (you can shred it too), and shredded coconut to a pressure cooker and cook until soft let’s say up to 3 whistles.
  • Next, take a pan and fry cashew nuts, raisins in ghee and add the nuts to the rice mixture.
  • Lastly add cardamom powder, salt, cinnamon powder and cook on medium heat until the rice, ghee roasted nuts blends well. (Keep stirring the mixture to avoid sticking)
  • You can either serve it warm cold or hot.
